Raised Joist Installation Method
Foundation Preparation: Cast independent footings using C25 (or higher grade) concrete, extending below the local frost line, and embed hot-dip galvanized anchors.
Joist Fixing: Use 40×60mm preservative-treated timber or hot-dip galvanized steel joists spaced at intervals of ≤400mm; secure them using stainless steel screws.
Decking Installation: Lay carbonized wood planks at least 25mm thick; leave 4mm expansion gaps and stagger joints so they do not align with the joists.
Raised Platform Installation Method
Elevation: Raise the entire carbonized wood platform by 2–5cm, leaving a ventilation gap at the bottom to prevent direct contact between the wood and the ground.
Drainage Design: Incorporate a 0.5%–1% transverse slope into the platform to ensure rapid drainage of surface water.
Suitable Applications: Ideal for small outdoor areas such as terraces and balconies, balancing breathability with aesthetics.
Embedded Post Installation Method
Post Preparation: Leave a 3cm uncarbonized section at the base of the post to act as a buffer, and apply an asphalt coating to the embedded portion for isolation.
Embedment Depth: Embed posts to a depth of at least 40cm, with a crushed stone layer at the base to enhance drainage.
Suitable Applications: Used for structural supports in outdoor fences, pergolas, and gazebos, preventing direct contact between the post and the soil.
